Altura is an 80,000 SF, four-story affordable housing community providing 75 one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes for families earning 30–60% of the Area Median Income. The project emphasizes sustainability, energy efficiency, and long-term durability and achieved Earth Advantage Platinum certification.
The L-shaped building features an asymmetric gable roof, a dynamic façade of recessed and projecting bays, and a south-facing courtyard with seating, a playground, grill area, and resident garden. Interior amenities include a community room with kitchen, on-site resident services, laundry on every level, secure bike parking, and universal accessibility.
With 30% diverse contractor participation, Altura exceeded its equity targets and demonstrated the power of inclusive construction. The completed community now provides a sustainable, welcoming home base for families in Beaverton’s South Cooper Mountain neighborhood.
